Strong contacts between Polish and American academics are an important foundation of a strong U.S.-Polish relationship. The Embassy promotes academic exchange between the U.S. and Poland through the U.S.-Polish Fulbright Commission, through which numbers of scholars travel to the U.S. and Poland each year.
The Embassy also supports the teaching of American Studies in Poland by bringing American experts to speak at universities in Poland, by supporting and organizing conferences, and by organizing videoconferences. In particular, the Embassy works very closely with the Polish Association of American Studies.
We occasionally accept applications for grants aimed at updating library holdings or for special thematic collections to accompany courses in American Studies. We also provide periodicals subscriptions to selected academic institutions.
